CHS to Present Barbecuing Hamlet

By Dakota Harris/CHS Reporter

Every year at California High School students, with the help of Tiffany Brown, perform a play in the spring. This year CHS presents Barbecuing Hamlet by Pat Cook.

The performances are on Friday, April 12 and Saturday, April 13, at 7:30 p.m. in the California Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for preK-12 grade. Seating is first come, first served.

This is Brown's seventh year presenting plays with CHS, and sadly her last. Brown has given productions such as: Hillbilly Weddin', Love Thy Neighbor, Deadly Ernest and Harvey.

Ashley Douglas, a junior who has been in the play for two years, said, "My favorite part of the play is opening night because all the hard work of the cast, tech and most importantly Brown is paid off with the reactions of the audience."

People interested in purchasing tickets can contact Brown, any cast member or buy them at the door for both nights.

Come out and enjoy a two-act farce that mixes the wonders of Shakespeare with the grit of the Old West and the craziness of a community theatre.
