Moniteau Christian Ministries Center installs new freezer/cooler unit

The freezer/cooler was installed the first week of April in what will be the food pantry at Moniteau Christian Ministries Center (MCMC), 303 Latham Road by Care Sales & Service, Camdenton.  The purchase of the 20x20 foot Thermal Rite freezer/cooler was made possible largely by

grants from the Green Foundation, United Way of Central Missouri and MFA.

Once the new building is complete and operational, the

freezer/cooler will allow MCMC to receive donations of perishable food such as fresh fruit, vegetables and meat for distribution to those in need in Moniteau County.

Generous community support both in cash donations and in

donations of skilled labor by electricians, plumbers and HVAC installers have allowed for significant progress in Phase II of the construction of MCMC's building.  The wiring and plumbing are almost completed.  The installation of the furnaces and ductwork is well underway.  Work that still needs to be done before the building will be operational includes the purchase and installation of drywall and dropped ceilings air conditioner units, and bathroom and kitchen fixtures and cabinets.

The MCMC Board is seeking grant funding as well as hosting four major fundraisers to raise funds to complete the building.  The next fundraiser will be Miniature Golf for a Cause on Saturday, May 4, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Turkey Creek Golf Center, Jefferson City.  Many businesses and other organizations are supporting the event by sponsoring holes.  The cost to participate is $10 per person in teams of two-five people. All proceeds will go to benefit MCMC.  To sign up your team call Contact/Sign-up Information: David Bailey 573-584-3836; Shelley
