Road Work for Mid-Missouri

Aug. 19 - 30

The following is a listing of general highway maintenance and construction work in the mid-Missouri area for the two-week period of Aug. 19 -30. Weather conditions may cause postponements in the work schedule. Other construction or maintenance work may occur on other roadways throughout the area. Many projects will include lane closures, and delays can be expected. MoDOT reminds the public to buckle up, slow down, follow posted signs and drive safely through work areas. All Counties

Daylight/Evening Hours

Mowing of right of way and striping of roadways are under way in various locations. Motorists should travel with care and be alert to slow-moving equipment along the roadside.

Boone County

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route 740 (Stadium Boulevard) at Interstate 70 - Construction of a diverging diamond interchange continues. Motorists are advised to slow down and pay attention to trucks entering and leaving the construction area. Construction is scheduled to be completed in winter of 2014.

Interstate 70 over Hominy Creek west of exit 131 - Bridge and pavement replacement is nearing completion.

  • Crews will stripe lanes during the week of August 19. Occasional nighttime lane closures are possible on Monday, August 19 and Tuesday, August 20.

  • Motorists are advised to slow down and pay attention to trucks entering and leaving the median.

Route Z at Interstate 70 - Bridge replacement, shoulder widening, roundabout construction and resurfacing is complete. Striping and some other miscellaneous clean-up work will be finished August 19.

Route F between Route 63 and Route 124 - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 19 through Thursday, August 22. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route N between Route 163 and the end of state maintenance - Chip sealing roadway surface to extend pavement life. The operation is scheduled to take place Monday, August 26 through Thursday, August 29. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete. At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. Drivers should lower their speeds through the area. Motorists should expect delays. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route U between Route 124 and the end of state maintenance - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 19 through Thursday, August 22. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route NN between Route 63 and Route 124 - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 19 through Thursday, August 22. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route YY between Route 124 and the end of state maintenance - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 19 through Thursday, August 22. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Callaway County

Daylight Hours

Route 54/63 bridges over the Missouri River - Bridge maintenance will take place Monday, August 19 through Thursday, August 29. One lane in each direction will be open through the work area.

Route O between Route D and Route UU - Chip sealing roadway surface to extend pavement life. The operation is scheduled to take place Tuesday, August 20 and Wednesday, August 21. Camden County

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route 5 bridge over the Lake of the Ozarks at Hurricane Deck - Bridge replacement continues. Much of the work currently taking place will not affect traffic. However, traffic could be stopped briefly to allow equipment to be moved. The entire project is scheduled for completion in winter 2014.

Route 54 between Old Route 5 and the Niangua Bridge - Roadway resurfacing, widening of shoulders and installation of rumble strips continues. One lane is open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

Route 7 between North Route 5 and Route DD - Culvert pipe maintenance in various locations will take place Monday, August 19 through Thursday, August 22. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Cole County

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route B over the Osage River Bridge north of St. Thomas - Bridge rehabilitation work continues.

  • Temporary traffic signals are moving traffic through the work area. The entire project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

Overnight Hours

Business Route 50 (Missouri Boulevard) at Dix Road - Roadway maintenance will take place from 7 p.m. Monday, August 19 until 6 a.m. on Tuesday, August 20. The work will result in lane closures and turning lane restrictions in the eastbound and westbound lanes at Dix Road.

Cooper County

Daylight Hours

Route 179 between Route 87 and Route 98 - Roadway maintenance will take place Tuesday, August 20 and Wednesday, August 21. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route B between Interstate 70 and Route J - Roadway maintenance will take place on Tuesday, August 27. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route J between Route 87 and Route B - Roadway maintenance will take place on Monday, August 26. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route V between Route 179 and the end of state maintenance - Roadway maintenance will take place on Thursday, August 22. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route NN between Route N and Riverview Drive - Roadway maintenance will take place on Thursday, August 29. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route PP between Route 5 and the end of state maintenance - Roadway maintenance will take place on Wednesday, August 28. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Nancy Potter Road between Route 87 and the end of state maintenance - Roadway maintenance will take place on Monday, August 19. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Cooper and Moniteau Counties

Route 87 between Route O and Interstate 70 - Roadway resurfacing, widening of shoulders, and installation of rumble strips continues. One lane is open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

Crawford County

Route V between Route 49 and Route Y - Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, August 19 through Thursday, August 29. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route Y between Route 49 and Route V - Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, August 19 through Thursday, August 29. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Crawford and Dent Counties

Daylight Hours

Route 19 between Route 49 and the Salem city limits - Roadway resurfacing and widening of shoulders continues. One lane is open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

Dent County

Daylight Hours

Route 32 between Route 72 and the Salem city limits - Roadway resurfacing and widening of shoulders continues. One lane is open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

Route FF between Route 68 and Route 72 - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 26 through Thursday, August 29. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Gasconade County

Daylight Hours

Route J over First Creek, south of Route 100 - Bridge maintenance will take place Monday, August 26 through Thursday, August 29. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Howard County

Daylight Hours

Route 87 at County Road 323 - Roadside maintenance will take place Tuesday, August 20 through Thursday, August 22. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route A between County Road 128 and County Road 138 - Culvert pipe replacement will take place Monday, August 26 through Wednesday, August 28. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Laclede County

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route 5 at the Osage Fork bridge - Construction of new bridges continues. The road is closed in the construction area. Motorists can detour around the construction area on Routes C, PP and J. The entire project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

Route 32 at the Gasconade and Osage Fork bridges - Construction of new bridges continues. The bridges will remain closed to traffic through the remainder of the project. The entire project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

Route F over Interstate 44, east of Lebanon - Bridge deck rehabilitation is under way. The overpass is closed while the work is being done. The interchange ramps will remain open to traffic. The project is scheduled for completion in late-September.

Route TT between Anthony Road and the Wright County line - Culvert pipe replacement will take place on Tuesday, August 20 and Wednesday, August 21. The road will be closed during the project. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route.

Maries County

Daylight Hours

Route 42 between Route 63 and Coffey Street in Vienna - Culvert pipe replacement will take place on Wednesday, August 21 and Thursday, August 22. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 63 between Route A and the Gasconade River bridge - Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, August 19 through Wednesday, August 21. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 133 between County Road 218 and County Road 224 - Roadside maintenance will take place on Monday, August 26. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Miller and Morgan Counties

Daylight Hours

Route OO between Route CC and Route OO - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 26 through Thursday, August 29. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Moniteau and Morgan Counties

Daylight Hours

Route E between Route 50 and Route C - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 19 and Tuesday, August 20. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Morgan County

Daylight Hours

Route 50 at the Lamine River Bridge west of Syracuse and

Route 50 at the Union Pacific Railroad Bridge west of Syracuse - Bridge deck replacement continues.

  • Traffic over the Lamine River Bridge is controlled by temporary traffic signals and a temporary concrete barrier has been placed along the bridge between the work location and the active lane.

  • The railroad bridge is closed to complete the overlay work in the eastbound lanes. Periodic lane closures can be expected through the work area. The entire project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

Route HH between Route 5 and Route E - Roadside maintenance will take place Wednesday, August 21 and Thursday, August 22. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Morgan and Camden Counties

Daylight Hours

Route 5 between Route 52 and the Niangua Bridge - Roadway resurfacing, widening of shoulders, and installation of rumble strips continues. One lane is open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

Osage County

Daylight Hours

Route 50 between Route 63 and Route W - Construction of new lanes continues.

  • Crews will place a barricade along the shoulder of the roadway the week of August 19, in preparation for work that will be done near the roadway during the week.

  • Much of the work currently taking place will not affect traffic. The entire project is scheduled for completion in fall 2014.

Phelps County

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route 72 between Route 63 and County Road 5220 - Roadway resurfacing and signal upgrades continue. One lane is open through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in the winter.

Route D over the Gasconade River, south of Jerome - Bridge rehabilitation continues. The road is closed through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in late August.

Route V at Interstate 44 - Signal upgrades, grading, drainage, and paving to add turn lanes at the interchange continue. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

Daylight Hours

Arlington Outer Road between Interstate 44 and Sugar Tree Road - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 19 and Tuesday, August 20. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route B over Clear Creek south of County Road 1220 - Bridge maintenance will take place Monday, August 19 through Thursday, August 22. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route W between Route 63 and the end of state maintenance - Roadway maintenance will take place Wednesday, August 21 and Thursday, August 22. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Pulaski County

Daylight Hours

Route 7 between Interstate 44 and Route 133 - Roadway resurfacing and widening of shoulders continues. One lane is open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

Business Loop 44 between Interstate 44 and Ichord Avenue - Roadway maintenance will take place on Tuesday, August 20. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Washington County

Route C between Route 21 and Route Y - Roadway maintenance will take place Wednesday, August 21 and Thursday, August 22. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route JJ between Route C and the end of state maintenance - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 19 and Tuesday, August 20. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
