California Elementary Principle Daniel Williams received a donation to the Buddy Pack program Dec. 4, from Burgers' Smokehouse employee representative Randy Less. The donation was collected from Burger employees and given in honor of Burgers' Smokehouse family management as a way to give back to the community during the Christmas season. The Buddy Pack Program provides kid-friendly, nutritious food that students take home over the weekend or holidays to supplement meals when there is not enough to eat at home.

The money collected was able to buy 38 cases of Kool-Aid, seven cases of Chewy Quaker bars, six cases of chicken noodle soup, five cases of beef stew, five cases of vegetable beef soup, eight cases of peanut butter,

five cases of peaches, five cases of applesauce and eight cases of macaroni and cheese,

According to Steven Burger, "we are honored that the employees gave this generous gift on behalf of our family and proud that it went to such a worthwhile cause."
