Russellville 175th committee

By Eve Campbell

For the Democrat

In a few short months the 175th anniversary of our town will be celebrated. At the present time, we have not received much involvement from the community. We really need your help in order to make this a memorable celebration! Involvement from the community is necessary in order to have this celebration.

The organizational meetings are held the third Thursday of each month at 6:30 at St. Michael's Church. Everyone is encouraged to attend.

There are many ways you can help!

Volunteer to work a couple of hours on Friday and/or Saturday in one or more of the needed areas (food, drink trailer, kids area, committee booth, historical museum, quilt show, etc.)

Looking for organizations, churches and individuals to share historical information with the community. You are invited to set up a table in the gym with information such as pictures, articles, items, etc on the history of your organization.

There will be a quilt show held in the gym as well. Bring a quilt and the story behind the quilt to share. Questions about the quilt show should be directed to Sharon Distler at 782-3136.

Please notify us by May 1, if you plan to bring quilts or a historical display, so we have a space reserved for you. Quilts and historical displays may be set up on Thursday, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Friday 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., or other times may be arranged, if necessary.

Volunteers are needed to provide some games throughout the day for the kids area.
