Ward crashes county car

On Friday, Feb. 15, the Missouri State Highway Patrol investigated an incident involving a patrol vehicle of the Moniteau County Sheriff's Department.

According to a patrol report, at about 11:20 p.m., a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado driven eastbound on Lake Imhoff Road just west of Quentin Drive by Michael J. Ward, California, was in "emergency mode" with lights and siren when the driver lost control on a gravel-covered curve, went off the right side of the road and struck a tree.

A passenger, Justin D. Nichols, Jamestown, was transported with minor injuries to Capital Region Medical Center, Jefferson City.

Both driver and passenger were reported wearing seat belts. The patrol vehicle was reported totaled.
