Prairie Home Panthers win first round district game

Prairie Home faced Jamestown Tuesday night in the first-round action at the Class 1 District 9 Boys Basketball Tournament at Jamestown, where the Panthers defeated the Eagles 53-26.

Prairie Home, the #4 seed, led 10-4 after one quarter, 22-11 at the half, and 34-20 after three quarters. The Panthers went on to outscore the Eagles in the final frame with the score of 53-26.

Other Tuesday night action at the Class 1 District 9 Tourney included the following: Top seeded Glasgow defeated #8 seeded Missouri School for the Deaf 78-25. Community, the #2 seed, defeated #7 Calvary Lutheran 48-29, and Chamois, the #2 seed defeated #6 seed Higbee 54-24.

Glasgow will play Prairie Home at 6 p.m. Thursday in the semifinal round, and Community will play Chamois at 7:30 p.m. (weather permitting)

The championship game is scheduled for 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23.
