Stingrays compete at Fulton Swim Meet

The California Stingrays swim team participated in a meet at Fulton June 26, where many of the California swimmers were top finishers in their event. Other competing teams were the Fulton Fins, Centralia Hurricanes, Jefferson City Barracudas and the Mexico Marlins.

California swimmers who finished in the top four of their event are as follows. In the Mixed 8 and Under 100 Meter Freestyle Relay, second place was won by Abby Trachsel, Jackson Bailey, Gavin Porter and Isabella Kincaid with 1:38.64, and fourth, Megan Arnold, Angel Gilmore, Charlee Bailey and Ben Porter, 2:08.88; Mixed 9-10 100 Meter Freestyle Relay, first, Tagen Higgins, Will Pickering, Kaitlyn Stauffer and Tyler Johnston, 1:21.84, and second, Rubi Bolinger, Kiley Bailey, Megan VanLoo and Madison McCord, 1:38.18.

In the Mixed 11-13 200 Meter Freestyle Relay, second place went to Jack Johnston, Brooklyn Bax, Jaley Flippin and Britani Allee with 2:56.35; Girls 11-13 200 Meter Freestyle Relay, fourth, Kaitlyn Turner, Emma Baer, Brooklyn Bax and Zoe Zimmerman, 3:07.87; Mixed 14-18 200 Meter Freestyle Relay, first, Gunner Baquet, Gavin Pickering, Emma Bailey and Luke Burger, 2:10.38, and third, Ellie Wirts, Garrett Imhoff, Rudy Wirts and Audrey Pickering, 2:22.50.

In the Girls 10 and Under 100 Meter Individual Medley (IM), Kiley Bailey placed fourth with 2:11.19; Girls 13-14 100 Meter IM, Emma Bailey, fourth, 1:41.22.

In the Girls 6 and Under 25 Meter Backstroke, Charlee Bailey placed first with 38.76; Boys 7-8 25 Meter Backstroke, Jackson Bailey, second, 27.97, and Gavin Porter, third, 29.07; Girls 7-8 25 Meter Backstroke, Abby Trachsel, fourth, 26.62; Boys 9-10 25 Meter Backstroke, Tyler Johnston, second, 23.00, and Will Pickering, third, 27.09; Girls 11-12 50 Meter Backstroke, Amber Trachsel, third, 41.81; Girls 13-14 50 Meter Backstroke, Ellie Wirts, fourth, 46.53; and Boys 15-18 50 Meter Backstroke, Gavin Pickering, first, 35.07.

In the Girls 11-12 50 Meter Butterfly, Amber Trachsel placed fourth with 46.24; and Boys 15-18 50 Meter Butterfly, Luke Burger, first, 30.78.

In the Boys 7-8 25 Meter Breaststroke, Jackson Bailey placed first with 30.25; Girls 7-8 25 Meter Breaststroke, Abby Trachsel, third, 32.84; Boys 9-10 25 Meter Breaststroke, Tyler Johnston, fourth, 24.29; Girls 9-10 25 Meter Breaststroke, Megan VanLoo, third, 31.06, and Rubi Bolinger, fourth, 31.92; and Boys 100 Meter Breaststroke, Jack Johnston, fourth, 1:46.25.

California will host Boonville and Sedalia at 6 p.m. today (Wednesday). The last meet of the season, the conference meet, will be held Saturday, July 13, at Fulton. All of the teams in the Mid-Missouri Swim Conference will compete.
