Save at the Missouri State Fair on Farm Bureau Day

Come to the Missouri State Fair on Farm Bureau/Farm Family Day and take advantage of some special discounts courtesy of Farm Bureau. Plan to go Monday, Aug. 12, and save on gate admission, carnival ride wristbands and tractor pull tickets.

Coupons are free and available at the Moniteau County Farm Bureau office located at 100 W Buchanan, California. You don’t have to be a member to pick up the coupons, but remember, coupons are not available on the fairgrounds and are only valid on Aug. 12.

While on the fairgrounds, stop by the Farm Bureau building to drop your name in two very big contests.

For only a dollar, you can purchase a raffle ticket for the 2012 Ford F-150 four-wheel drive pickup, provided by Missouri’s Ford dealerships and being raffled by the MFB Foundation for Agriculture. The winner will be announced during the fair, so you still have time to enter. Money raised supports educational and leadership programs.

The other contest is a drawing for a new John Deere lawn tractor. There is no cost to enter this contest and a winner will be drawn after the fair. John Deere is providing the lawn tractor.

“We have a lot to offer this year at the State Fair,” Blake Hurst, Missouri Farm Bureau president says. “There is so much to learn about agriculture at our building and elsewhere on the fairgrounds. You won’t be disappointed. It’s possible you may even win a new Ford truck, but you have to stop by our building to enter our contest before it’s too late.”

Winning photos from this year’s Show Me Snapshots photo contest will be on display. Farm Bureau members are very talented photographers and it is worth a visit to see how they capture Missouri farm life in print. There are other exhibits as well, focusing on Farm Bureau’s membership benefits and programs. Staff will be available to talk about issues important to farmers, ranchers and all Missourians. Don’t leave without grabbing a cup of cold chocolate or regular milk for only 25 cents.

If you don’t plan on making the tractor pull Monday evening, hear up-and-coming country singer Charissa Mrowka and the Country Cross band at the fair. Charissa’s appearance is brought to fairgoers thanks to Missouri Farm Bureau and Missouri’s Ford Dealers. They will be playing other days during the fair, so go online to for performance times and locations.
