Volunteers with the Mid-Missouri Mission Team (aka 3MT Lifechangers) did maintenance work and repairs on properties in California and surrounding areas July 15-19, including Clarksburg, Latham, McGirk, Otterville, Tipton, Fortuna and Jefferson City. This is the ninth summer the group has visited the area to provide volunteer work for those in need.
Jim Wright, 3MT Vice President, said, "This is all about doing for God. He gets all of the glory. It's not about us; we are just direction people."
This summer's group of missionaries totaled approximately 200, with ages ranging from 12-75. They camped out at Tipton School for the duration of their stay, while area churches provided their meals.
3MT President and co-founder Kevin Kohler said there were around 120 volunteers providing meals for the 3MT Lifechangers. Host churches, which provided lunch, ladders and projects for work crews at each of the job sites, included Main Street Baptist in California, Tipton First Baptist, Tipton Methodist, Fortuna Baptist, Otterville First Baptist, Lebanon Baptist and Calvary Baptist in Jefferson City.
Kohler said the theme for this year's mission is "Love God, Love People."
