Additional felony charge filed against Smith

A new felony charge was filed on June 10 in Moniteau County Court against Travis R. Smith, 42, California.

This charge includes two counts of Class C Felony Statutory Sodomy in the Second Degree. The counts relate to incidents alleged to have occurred in 1999 and 2000 in the Latham area, involving a female aged 14 to 15 at the time.

Smith is due to appear in Moniteau County Court on June 17 with Attorney Shane Lee Farrow for a preliminary hearing on charges filed on Sept. 28, according to information in court documents.

The California man was arraigned on the previously filed felony sex charges on Oct. 1, 2012.

Those two charges include a total of six counts which include a range of felonies from forcible rape to sexual abuse. The charges are for incidents alleged to have occurred in 1998, 1999 and 2005.

He is free on bonds of $50,000 and $20,000 bond on the previous charges. Bond has been set at $30,000 on the most recent charge.
