The California High School cheerleaders attended UCA (United Cheerleaders Association) Camp June 10-13 at the Country Club Hotel at Lake of the Ozarks, where they earned a number of awards, including the Most Improved Squad and Most Spirited Squad.
"The girls did really well at camp," CHS Head Cheerleading Coach Alisha Connell said. "They worked on a dance before the camp that they performed for all of the squads at camp, which they got first place for. They also learned a dance at camp and got third place out of 11 varsity squads."
Connell said the CHS cheerleaders earned the Most Spirited Award on the first day of camp, as well as earning the Spirit Stick each day of camp.
"They also earned eight Superior Ribbons and two Excellent Ribbons," Connell said.
Connell and Assistant Coach Keri Toebben, both former CHS cheerleaders, accompanied the squad.
