Sheriff's Notes
New jail update
Sheriff Jeptha Gump thanks everyone who attended the open house. The turnout was very large and the department appreciates the interest shown in this piece of the county history. If everything continues on schedule, inmates will moved into the new jail facility on Thursday, March 14. Once the inmates are all moved out of the old jail it will become the Sherff's Department Business Office and will be open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 12 noon and 1 to 5 p.m. each day. The office will be closed from 12 noon to 1 p.m. each day for lunch.
The Sheriff's Department will still be available and phones answered 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.
