The grand opening of California C&R Market at its new larger location just south of its old location in Village Green Shopping Center on Monday, March 25, drew local residents to check out the store and try samples offered in a variety of areas of the store.
Corporate personnel were on hand for the event, including Donna Ramsey, widow of Richard Ramsey, one of the partners who began the business.
According to David Ratliff, California store manager, the new facility has double the square footage of the old premises. It contains a full-service bakery and deli with several tables and chairs. One deli wall is decorated with murals courtesy of the California High School Art Club of Brad Friedrich.
C&R came to California 20 years ago. The original grand opening was Aug. 18, 1992.
