RUSSELLVILLE - More than $4,000 collected by the Russellville PTO was donated to the Cole County R-I School to support the upgrade of building security.

The PTO's annual pancake breakfast was earmarked for this project, in light of the Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy.

The doors and locks of the elementary building already have been upgraded.

This summer, the front lobby will be remodeled to include a second double door.

Beginning this fall, visitors will be required to sign in and receive a visitor's pass before entering the second set of doors.

Adults will not be able to escort their children to the classroom.
