The annual California High School Pinto Golf Banquet was held Thursday at Pizza Hut, California, where members of the varsity and JV boys’ golf teams, Coach Doug Miller, and family and friends gathered to reflect on the 2013 season.
Miller recognized each of the athletes for their personal achievements and contributions to the season. He presented letters to each of the lettermen, and presented the Team Player Award to John Wolken, and the Pinto Award to Kade McAdams.
“These boys have been the toughest group I’ve ever coached,” Miller said. “They played no matter how cold or wet it was, in the harshest conditions. They are hard workers, but also a fun group of guys.”
He added, “Our season started out with new guys who had no varsity experience and snow on the course. So we had a rough start, but we went on to do pretty well at conference. Other coaches even commented on how much our boys had improved.”
In closing, Miller thanked the parents for their contributions, while parents and players thanked Coach Miller for the time and effort he contributed to the Pinto golf teams.
