Russellville athletes earn All-State honors

Russellville High School track team members competed at the Class 2 State Track and Field Championships Friday-Saturday at Dwight T. Reed Stadium, Jefferson City, where many finished in the top eight of their event in a field of 16 competitors to earn All-State honors. In the girls’ division for Russellville, the relay team of Justice Miller, Emma Koestner, Hannah Campbell and Jorden Barnhart placed second in the 4x200 Meter Relay with 1:47.14, and placed third in the 4x100 Meter Relay with 51.12. Taylor Young placed fourth in the Pole Vault with 9’3”. In the boys’ division for Russellville, Austin Smith placed third in the Pole Vault with 13’0”.

“All of the kids performed at their best when the time came,” Russellville Head Coach Sean Lovelace said. “We had three school records broken. Taylor Young broke the RHS Pole Vault record, and our girls’ relay team broke the RHS records in the 4x200 Meter and the 4x400 Meter. The kids worked very hard all season with the goal of earning All-state honors. I’m really proud of our kids. They worked very hard to achieve their goals.”

Other results for Russellville at the state championships are as follows The relay team of Miller, Koestner, Campbell and Barnhart placed ninth in the 4x400 Meter with 4:12.03; Miranda Hill placed ninth in the 3200 Meter with 12:17.41; Campbell placed 10th in the 100 Meter with 13.05; Miller placed 12th in the 200 Meter with 27.17; Grace Young placed 12th in the 800 Meter with 2:28.35; and Hill placed 13th in the 1600 Meter with 5:36.94.
