The Biggest Loser Spring 2013 Contest was held in California April 3-May 22, where area participants paired up in teams of two (a total of 13 teams) to compete to lose the most weight and ultimately win the grand prize.
Participants paid $1 for every pound gained up front, and at the end of the contest, the team that lost the most weight won the jackpot. After the final weight in, the entire group lost over 1,000 lbs. Mission accomplished!
Participant Linda Baer said, "Initially, we did the contest just with people we work with here at JCMG. Then we decided to include people out of the office for the next contest. Anyone could join in."
Thus the Biggest Loser Spring 2013 Contest.
"We talked about donating the money raised from the contest," Baer said. "But this way, the winners can do whatever they want, donate to their own favorite charity, or go out and buy a new bathing suit!"
The next contest, Biggest Loser Summer 2013, will begin July 10 and continue through Aug. 28. The competition is open to anyone who would like to participate at a cost of $10 ($1 for every lb. gained).
Participants must weigh in at JCMG, California, by 5 p.m. July 10, in order to compete.
During the contest, weigh-in will be done every Wednesday at JCMG, 7:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.
First, second and third place prizes will be awarded by individual percentage of weight loss.
