St. Andrew students honor Perry

Kindergarten students at St. Andrew's have been learning about what it means to be a veteran. The students honored someone very special to them, the bus driver for our California students, Bud Perry, by making cards to thank him for serving our country. Bud always has a smile on his face and the students love to shake his hand or give him high-fives in the hallway. The students invited Bud to the classroom where they each gave Bud a special card and thanked him individually for his service. Bud shared with the class that he is a Marine who served in the Korean War. Bud also shared a special story from Thanksgiving in 1950. He was stationed in North Korea at the time and ran into his brother, a reserve, on Thanksgiving Day. It was very exciting for him because they were not aware of each other's location. Thank you to Bud Perry and to all veterans for serving and protecting our country!
