The California Historic District (CHD) is sponsoring a Wreath Decorating Contest for the Christmas season.

There are 50 wreath kits available to public at no cost on a first come, first serve basis, one per family, at Oak Street Fabrics, 401 South Oak Street. The wreaths may be picked up until Nov. 16, or until the supply is exhaused.

The kit includes one 12-inch wreath and ribbon to which the contestants may add their own creative touches.

The special personalized wreaths are due back at Oak Street Fabrics prior to Nov. 27. They will be displayed in uptown and downtown businesses. A ballot box will be in each store to enable patrons to vote for their favorite wreath creation. Winners will be announced Dec. 21. First prize is 50 chamber bucks; second, 25 chamber bucks.
