Ryan Keith Clayton, 32, has been charged in Moniteau County Court with Class C Felony Theft/Stealing as a result of actions allegedly taken between July 1, 2010, and Dec. 31, 2010.

According to court records, Clayton is alleged to have written checks on accounts of a client of a business of which he was manager at the time. The records indicate an agreement was reached for the defendant to repay funds amounting to more than $14,000. However, when the defendant allegedly ceased making payments, charges were refiled.

If convicted on this charge, he could face up to seven years in prison and a $5,000 fine.
