The California Pintos traveled to Osage Friday night, where they rolled to a 49-14 win against the Indians.

"Offensively, we did fantastic," California Coach Marty Albertson said. "Anytime you run for 393 yards, it's good. Our guys did a great job of dominating the line of scrimmage. Nathan Goans, Zach Cummings, Tommy Robins, Nathan Squires, Ramiro Garcia, Alexx Lewis and Jon Goans did a great job. We didn't even need to pass."

California's running game included A.J. Kendrick with nine carries for 106 yards and one TD, Luke Burger with 18 carries for 105 yards and three TDs, Jaden Barr with seven carries for 71 yards and three TDs, Jerry Lutz with eight carries for 69 yards, and Walker Borghardt with nine carries for 39 yards.

Albertson added, "I thought we played better defensively against Osage. Our young kids like Allan Burger, Landon Mouse and Brandan Gump had a great game."

The Pintos held the Indians to 40 rushing yards from 25 carries.

Osage quarterback Austin Riley threw 35 passes, completing just 14 for 190 yards.

The Pintos started off the scoring action with 5:21 remaining in the first quarter when Barr returned an Osage punt via a 55-yard touchdown. Aaron Cuevas nailed the extra point and California led 7-0.

The Pintos' next possession included a 15-yard run by Borghardt and a 21-yard run by Lutz, and was topped off with a 5-yard TD by Luke Burger with 1:58 left in the first quarter. After Cuevas' PAT kick, California led 14-0.

The Indians' drive that followed ended with an interception by California's Jacob Johnson. Two plays later, however, Osage recovered a Pinto fumble. The Indians were unable to capitalize on the turnover, while the Pintos answered with a 7-play drive that included a 52-yard run by Kendrick, followed by a 1-yard TD by Luke Burger. After Cuevas' point after, the Pintos led 21-0 with 6:24 left in the second quarter.

The Indians answered with a 6-play drive capped with a 32-yard TD pass from Riley to Jake Ulmer, who also scored the extra point, and Osage trailed 21-7 with 4:51 left in the first half.

The Indians' next possession ended with a 20-yard TD pass from Riley to Ulmer. After Ulmer scored the extra point, California led 21-14 with 1:40 left in the second quarter.

With just :09 left in the third quarter, the Pintos tacked on seven more points via a 6-yard TD by Luke Burger. Cuevas nailed the point after and California led 35-14.

The Pintos' next possession ended with a 4-yard TD by Kendrick. Cuevas got the PAT and the Pintos led 42-14 with 8:11 left in the fourth quarter.

The Indians' ensuing drive was over just as it got started due to an Osage fumble on the kickoff return, which was recovered by California's Drew Norton. The Pintos scored on their first play, a 12-yard TD run by Barr. Cuevas scored the point after and California led 49-14 with 7:53 left to play.

With the win, the Pintos move to 6-1 and 4-1 in the Tri-County Conference.

California tackles were led by Lutz with 11. Allan Burger followed with nine. Gump had seven, and Garcia and Nathan Goans each had five.

California (6-1 and 4-1 in Tri-County Conference) will host Warsaw at 7 p.m. Friday at Riley Field.

"It's going to be nice to be back home," Albertson said. "Warsaw is a talented team and they gave Blair Oaks a run. It was pretty close all the way through. We're going to have to play our A game for sure."

The Parade of Champions will begin at 5:30 p.m. at Riley Field.
