Russellville's Jungmeyer and Schrimpf are state bound

After placing second at the Class 1 District 2 Golf Tournament Oct. 7, the Russellville Lady Indianss advanced as a team to Class 1 District 2 Sectionals Monday at Crescent Farms Golf Course, St. Louis, where sophomore Mikala Jungmeyer and senior Kelsey Schrimpf qualified to advance to the Class 1 State Golf Championships.

Jungmeyer shot an 87 to finish 11th (tie), and Schrimpf shot a 92 to finish 17th.

Russellville's Madilyn Bungart, a sophomore, finished 45th with 125; sophomore Madison Oliver finished 47th with 128; and sophomore Chantz Grellner shot a 138 to finish 48th.

The overall medalist was Jessica Dreesbeimdieke, Westminister Christian Academy, who shot a 73. John Burroughs won the team competition with 346. Russellville finished fifth as a team with 432.

Jungmeyer and Schrimpf will compete at the Class 1 State Golf Championships Oct. 21-22 at Sedalia Country Club.
