Archery equipment was purchased for Jamestown School by a grant

*Archery equipment was purchased for Jamestown School by a grant from the

National Wild Turkey Federation. Staff members have been trained to

provide archery lessons to the students. It is expected to become a very

popular sport with the kids.

*Mrs. Russell, 3rd grade, Mrs. Witcher, 4th grade, Ms. Weber, 5th grade,

Mrs. Baumert, 6th grade math/social studies, and Mrs. Sumner, 6th grade

CA, Science, and Spanish gave reports of the accomplishments, goals, and

needs of their programs. The elementary teachers are using a new,

rigorous math program with their students called "enVision." They feel

that it is providing increased problem-solving opportunities and a higher

level of critical thinking skills that the Common Core requires.

Promethean boards will be installed in the remaining elementary classrooms

this year.

*Bus routes were approved.

*The Parents As Teachers program received a grant from First Chance For

Children, which will allow additional families to be served and has

created a lending library for preschool children. The library will be

open on the 2nd Thursday and 4th Wednesday of every month from 6:00-7:00,

excluding holiday weeks and inclement weather.
