Injuries reported from vehicle rollovers

Two one-vehicle rollover accidents which resulted in injuries were reported by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

According to a patrol report, a vehicle rolled over resulting in extensive damage to a vehicle and a seriously injured driver.

At 8:23 p.m. Oct. 9, on Route V three-tenths of a mile south of Fahrni Road, a 2006 Mercury, driven northbound by Leslie D. Cox, Russellville, traveled off the left side of the road, vaulted over a driveway and overturned. The driver, who was transported to University Hospital, Columbia, was reported to have not been wearing a seat belt.

According to a separate patrol report, at 11:45 p.m. Oct. 10, on Highway 87 one-tenth of a mile north of Moniteau Farm Road, a 1991 Toyota Corolla, driven northbound by Christopher B. Longan, California, went off the right side of the roadway, struck a driveway and overturned. The vehicle was reported totaled.

Longan sustained moderate injuries and was transported by ambulance to University Hospital, Columbia. Passengers Cole P. Heiland, Boonville, and Riley G. Owens, Prairie Home, sustained minor damages and were reported to have been transported by private conveyance to University Hospital,Columbia. The report indicated Riley was wearing a seat belt, while Heiland was reported to have not been wearing a seat belt. Seat belt use by Longan was listed as unknown.
