Injuries result from pair of collisions

Two people sustained injuries in separate collisions in the county.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, on Aug. 17, a 1996 Suzuki motorcycle driven westbound by James D. Pace, Latham, crossed the center line on Route W east of Maupin Road, and struck the side of an eastbound 2007 Chevrolet van, driven by Daryl L. Sensenig, Fortuna. The motorcycle overturned and came to rest in a ditch. Pace was transported by air ambulance to University Hospital, Columbia, with serious injuries. He was reported wearing a helmet. Sensenig was reported not wearing a seat belt. The motorcycle was reported totaled. The van sustained minor damages.

According to a patrol report, on Aug. 19, a westbound 2006 Chevrolet Trail Blazer, driven by Lauren Hentges, Tipton, while waiting to make a left turn from U.S. 50 into a private drive 275 feet east of Koerkenmeier Road, was struck in the rear by a westbound 1991 Honda Accord, driven by Ranney R. Reagan, Syracuse. Reagan was transported to St. Mary's Health Center, Jefferson City, with moderate injuries. It was unknown if Reagan was wearing a seat belt. Hentges was reported wearing a seat belt. The Honda was reported totaled, while the Chevrolet sustained minor damage.
