Sappington Cemetery marks work

There were 18 people in attendance at the Sappington Community Chapel Cemetery meeting Aug. 25, to mark recent accomplishments.

After beginning the business meeting with a prayer, Jim Rohrbach summarized several accomplishment of the last few years.

The most notable, of course, was removal of the old church building. It had been in disrepair for years.

Other major work completed included: the donation of additional land by Ronnie Allee, David Allee and Holly Bieri; a new wire fence built on three sides of the cemetery; additional white vinyl fence completed in front of the cemetery; and the addition of two concrete pads and benches in memory of Kenneth and Ladene Phillips and Gerald Lee Bilyeu.

Association meetings are held the fourth Sunday in August. Board members are Dale Bilyeu, Sarah Jones, Kathy Kempfer, Jim Rohrbach, president, Sharon Crawford, secretary, and Betty Emmerich, treasurer.
