The children of the late Harry N. and Cora M. Martin Childress held their annual family reunion at the Jamestown Community Center, Aug. 11, 2013. Family members attending were Ethel Childress Osborne, June Childress Hayes, Rose Childress Schulze and Marvin Childress.
Other family members and guests were Darlene Rosean, Denise Colvin, Geri Uribe, Rayne Chantel, Jayden Allen, Dan, Sharon, Danny and Sam McAley, Gerald, Missy, Cora and Peyden Childress, Stan and Marlene Neely, Wyatt and Tayler Schaeffer, Don Stilson, Steve Hayes, Diane McKee, Hannah Daily, Hailee Lara, Luis and Kim Schulze - Miranda, Royce Eaglen, Sue Mason, Forest and Anna Lee Martin, John and Beryl Martin, Ralph and Heather Martin, Lois Jenkins, Norman Wood, Nadine Hickman, Helen Howell, Mary Jane Martin and daughter and grandson, Anna May Martin, Gerald and Phyllis Kendrick.
The day included a potluck meal, visiting, items of family history and looking at photos. A silent auction was held to raise money for the upkeep of Bethel Cemetery north of Jamestown. A drawing was also held with several gifts awarded.
Deaths reported were Kenneth E. Schulze and Orphie Martin Walters. The marriage of Tayler Childress to Wyatt Schaeffer was reported and the births of a son to Destin and Jeremy Allen and a son to Ralph and Heather Martin.
The next reunion is scheduled for the second Sunday in August 2014.
