The Moniteau County Democrat Club met Thursday, March 27, at the Nic Nac Cafe. Final arrangements for the Truman Day Dinner were discussed. The speakers for the event will be Representative John Wright, Boone County, and Roy Temple, Chair for the Missouri Democratic party. The dinner will be Friday, May 9, at the Fairgrounds Centennial Hall. The planning committee will meet again Saturday, April 5. The early voting initiative petition being circulated is due to be completed. Yard signs stating "I Support Medicaid Expansion" were passed out to the members. The club's highway litter pickup will be Thursday, April 24. Members will meet at Van Adams Law office at 9 a.m. The members moved to add its support to the upcoming school proposal stressing the need for all members to get out and vote for it.
The nominating committee was given another month to file the slate of officers for the coming year. The next meeting of the club will be Thursday, April 24.
