Church members hold services at care centers

Sunday school attendance at the Baptist church was 74. Children's time was given by Mike and Annie Blankenship.

Special music was sung by Tiffany Dowell, Barbara Whittle and Jason Blankenship.

After morning worship a carry-in dinner was shared.

In the afternoon worship was held at both Moniteau and California Care nursing homes.

Those participating were Brother Glen Golden, Beverly Meyer, JoAnna Duncan, Pat Duncan, Regenia Wyrick, Crystal and Maggie Wessing, Tom and Rita Harris and Paul Allee.

March birthdays observed were George Wyrick, Tucker Homan, Kelly McGill, Stanley Blankenship, Parnell Duncan, Katheryn Blankenship, Jace Homan, Missy Blankenship and Jan Klein.

Celebrating anniversaries were Terry and Missy Blankenship and John and Jan Klein.

Next Sunday will be AWANA offering and business meeting after evening worship.

I remember when we got our first car, a light blue and white Chevy in 1955. And on Saturday, Aug. 21, 1954, my Dad, Mitchell Tising, won Grand Champion Ham at the Missouri State Fair. It sold for $11.25 a pound.

On Dec. 23, 1954, during the High Point School Christmas program the George Shoemaker house burned.

1955 in April I bought my first formal costing $16.95. Sept. 24, 1955, I was a sophomore. The softball tourney was on that date. CHS beat Eldon 14-11; beat Versailles by 10 points; beat Stover 19-9; receiving first place.

Dr. Riley was our coach. We had to play in the daytime because we had no lights on the field.

Oct. 1, 1955, Band Day at MU. MU won over Utah. There were 3,622 band members present.

April 2- bacon and cheese, toast, mix fruit, milk and juice.

April 3 - whole grain pancakes, syrup, fresh fruit, juice and milk.

April 4 - bagel sandwich, apricots, juice and milk.

Lunch

April 2 - spaghetti, slice bread, corn and mandarin oranges.

April 3 - hot dog on bun, french fries, carrots and pears.

April 4 - cheese pizza, carrot sticks with ranch, peaches and chocolate pudding.
