Eagles defeat Tigers 6-1

The Jamestown varsity baseball team hosted Higbee March 31, where the Eagles captured a 6-1 victory.

Jamestown led 4-0 after the first inning. Higbee scored one run in the second inning to trail 4-1. The Eagles added one run in the fourth and another in the sixth inning while holding the Tigers scoreless to secure the win, 6-1.

Alex Gerlach recorded the win for Jamestown with 16 strikeouts.

Andy Thompson led Eagle hits with a double and one RBI. Ethan Hunziker had two singles and one RBI and Christian DeVore had two singles. Alex Gerlach contributed a double.

Jamestown will host Pilot Grove at 5 p.m. Thursday.
