Cub Scouting is all about learning how to be a good citizen while having fun and this was evident at the April Pack meeting. After colors were presented and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited, Assistant Cubmaster Brad Friedmeyer shared a thank you letter from Moniteau Christian Ministries Center for the food donated during our recent Scouting for Food community service project. With the formalities attended to, each Den shared some of the things they have been working on in April.

The Tigers were excited about new games they had learned as well as the recycling they participated in as a hands-on activity.

The Wolf Den learned the game of Bocce Ball, built and decorated birdhouses, and read stories ending with "What would you do?" questions to discuss.

Bears were busy learning the best strategy in the game of checkers and learning to whittle on a bar of soap. While learning knife safety, they also learned what a "blood circle" is and we hope you never step into theirs!

The Webelos reached for new heights with science as they learned about gravity and motion. Roller coasters were a fun way to understand some of these ideas with many looking forward to experiencing this motion first hand!

The mild spring weather had everyone anxious for some movement of their own and playing "Hey, Hey! Who's Got The Ball" fit the bill perfectly. Boys were quite thoughtful but had a hard time guessing which of their fellow Pack members had the ball. The younger Cub Scouts helped out with several accidental clues that kept the parents in stitches!

The group soon settled down to watch as awards were presented to Matthew Abernathy, DJ Schneider, Peter Dampf, Braydon Knipp, Walker Friedmeyer, Henry Hirschvogel, Dillon Wood, Kade Garrison, Jalen Graff, Gabriel Mills, Salvatore Vasquez and Jace Schreck who earned his Tiger Rank. Belt loops presented were for a multitude of activities including swimming, fishing, ice skating, baseball, communicating, pet care, music, video games, bicycling, wildlife conservation, and computers. Four Wolves also received gold and silver Arrow Points. Ten elective learning experiences are required to receive each Arrow Point and this helps the Cub Scout develop interests and teach skills, many of which are useful in Boy Scouting.

Upcoming events include grade-level Den meetings and the Family Picnic/May Pack meeting May 3. For more information call Cameron at 573-796-2979 or Brad at 573-338-2491.
