It was a full house for the third annual "Wine, Dine and Win" California Progress, Inc. (CPI)fundraising event Saturday, April 27 at Braykley Hall near Centertown .

Those present began findingt places at the tables after checking the selection of pop, beer or wines at the beverage table, purchasing 50/50 tickets and second-chance drawing tickets, inspecting the silent auction offerings and mingling while waiting for the prime rib dinner to be served.

The dinner catered by Burl Lutz included salad, baked potato, vegetables, tea and cobbler topped with vanilla ice cream.

During the "Big Bucks" style event, Vickie Schoeder drew tickets as Jeff Shackleford, master of ceremonies, read off the numbers to be entered in pre-blocked spaces on a board, some of which already contained dollar amounts. As the board was filled with drawn ticket numbers, each number which landed on a dollar amount space won that amount. In addition to several winners of $50, $100, $250 and $500 the was one "big bucks" winner of $1,500. That winner was not present.

A ticket was drawn for a 50/50 winner who received half the money received for tickets with the remainder going to the fundraiser.

Silent auction items ranged from dance lessons by Rudy and Vickie Schroeder to a hedge trimmer with many items in between.

A live auction was held for tickets to the upcoming "Sock, Hop and Roll" and $400 gift certificate to the Hermann Hill Vineyard and Inn or the Hermann Hill Village.
