Garden club to host spring plant sale Saturday

The Twin City Garden Club will host its annual plant and bake sale Saturday, May 3, at City Hall in California, from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.

The plant and bake sale is an annual spring tradition, with many of the plants having been carefully selected. There is always a nice selection of beautiful plants and flowers of reasonable prices, along with delicious baked goods. Now is the time of the year to fill your gardens with beautiful color while supporting your local garden club and all their efforts within the community.

This year’s plant and bake sale includes a coloring contest for area school children grades kindergarten through third. The theme for the contest is “Making Our Community Beautiful”. Children were instructed to make an original creation based on their own interpretation of what the theme means to them. All entries along with the winners from each grade level will be displayed at city hall Saturday. Prizes for the contest are being donated by Mike Robertson and Burgher Haus.
