ACT Workshops to be offered at CHS

California High School teachers Dana Barr and Peggy Huhmann will each be providing a six-hour workshop for the ACT Test during the 2014-15 school year. Barr will instruct the English and Reading portions, and Huhmann will instruct the Science Reasoning and Math sections.

For this to be effective, students should ideally attend all sessions for either the English/Reading portion or the Math/Science Reasoning workshops, then take the ACT test. Instruction, practice, and-simulated testing will be provided.

Workshop dates for the first semester are as follows:

• English/Reading - 5:45-7:45 p.m. in Barr's classroom (107) - Thursday, Oct. 16; Wednesday, Nov. 12, and Wednesday, Dec. 3. -• Math/Science Reasoning - 5:45-7:45 p.m. in Huhmann's classroom (106) - Wednesday, Oct. 22, Wednesday, Nov. 19, and Wednesday, Dec. 10.

Students attending the workshop must be a current junior or senior and must purchase a workbook for $21. If attending both workshops, both workbooks will be required, totaling $42.

A group order will be placed through the high school office at 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26. Cash or checks made payable to CHS must be turned in to the office staff by the deadline in order to obtain the workbook. Students must have possession of the workbook in order to attend the session.
