There were injuries to four as two vehicles collided at 5:40 p.m. Friday, Aug. 15, on Highway 5 at Route W near Fortuna.
According to a Missouri Highway Patrol report, a southbound 2003 Chevrolet 2500 truck, driven by Cris D. Schwermer, Sedalia, while attempting to make a left turn onto Route W, failed to yield and struck head-on a northbound 2010 Dodge Caravan, driven by Katie A. Pryor, Versailles.
Schwermer sustained minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene. He was reported to have not been wearing a seat belt. Pryor was transported to St. Mary's Health Center with moderate injuries. Two minor children who were occupants of the Pryor vehicle were transported to St. Mary's by private conveyance with minor injuries. All occupants of the Pryor vehicle were reported wearing seat belts or were in child safety seats.
Both vehicles were reported to have sustained extensive damage.
