A special Christmas event, with cinema and more for all ages, was held at the Finke Theatre Friday, Nov. 28.
At the 2 p.m. cinema event for the younger set, about 50 attended a showing of the children's film "Elf" at 2 p.m. During an intermission, free popcorn and water were available. A more adult oriented film, "It's a Wonderful Life," was shown at 7 p.m. with about 25 present.
In addition to the films, a Christmas backdrop was set up in the theater, beginning at 1 p.m. for families and friends who wanted to take a holiday photo. The event, sponsored by the California Historic District (CHD) and Friends of the Finke Theatre, followed a presentation by Pam Green. The event also introduced new patrons to the downtown area.
