Hayes inducted into the Drury Sports Hall of Fame

Julie Wells Hayes was inducted into the Drury Sports Hall of Fame during ceremonies recently held at Findlay Student Center on the campus of Drury University in Springfield.

She is a graduate of California High School and the daughter of Gary and Alana Wells, California.

Julie was a major force for Drury volleyball in what some called the "Decade of Dominance" from 1984-1993. During her career, Drury was annually one of the top-ranked teams in NAIA District 16.

She was a nominee for All-American honors, earned All-Region honors, was a three-time All-District 16 selection and a four-year letterman.

Julie was the program's Player-of-the-Year in 1991 and 1992.

Julie graduated in 1993 earning an A.B. from Drury with a double major: Biology and Exercise and Sport Science.

She and her husband, Dan, reside in Republic and are the parents of three children, Aubrey, Mason and Dalton.

She is a registered nurse and currently works for Cox South Hospital in the pre-admission department.
