Julie Wells Hayes was inducted into the Drury Sports Hall of Fame during ceremonies recently held at Findlay Student Center on the campus of Drury University in Springfield.
She is a graduate of California High School and the daughter of Gary and Alana Wells, California.
Julie was a major force for Drury volleyball in what some called the "Decade of Dominance" from 1984-1993. During her career, Drury was annually one of the top-ranked teams in NAIA District 16.
She was a nominee for All-American honors, earned All-Region honors, was a three-time All-District 16 selection and a four-year letterman.
Julie was the program's Player-of-the-Year in 1991 and 1992.
Julie graduated in 1993 earning an A.B. from Drury with a double major: Biology and Exercise and Sport Science.
She and her husband, Dan, reside in Republic and are the parents of three children, Aubrey, Mason and Dalton.
She is a registered nurse and currently works for Cox South Hospital in the pre-admission department.
