According to this Christmas tale, the toys actually come alive for singing and dancing, and of course a little complaining at 12:05 on Christmas morning. They return to their toy status at 1 a.m, hopefully without waking the children who will receive them.

The event opened with the toys performing "Toys Opening." After some give and take between various toys they performed "Glee Under the Tree" before going onto a tune called "We're Alive."

The Toy Soldiers marched around and lined up before melting back into the crowd. The Monkeys made a nuisance of themselves for a time. Nearly every type of toy had their time in the spotlights, including the Ballerinas, Stuffed Animals, Transformers, Puppets (feeling free as they danced without their strings), the Crayons and Princess Dolls. The Teddy Bears all gathered and danced while singing "The Teddy Bear Tango." Then the Rag Dolls lined up and danced to "Rag Doll Rock."

Nearly 1 a.m, Santa (Preston McMillian) appeared and talked to the toys about going back to being toys. The Clock (Ace Currens) came out and toned 1 a.m., signaling the end of the big event.

The audience enjoyed the song "Christmas Dreams" before the final reprise of "Glee Under the Tree."

One toy of note was the Jack-in-the-Box (Chase Trimble) off to the side that popped up from time to time announcing the holiday, Halloween, Easter, and more, always while wearing headgear appropriate to the announced occasion. At the close, he popped up announcing it was Christmas, to which all of the toys shouted that he finally got it right.
