Lady Pintos take out Lady Mustangs 52-45

The California Lady Pintos hosted Eldon Friday night, where they defeated the Lady Mustangs 52-45 to pocket another conference win.

California started off with a 13-5 lead after the first quarter, and after an even 15-15 second quarter, the Lady Pintos led 28-20 at the half. Eldon managed 25 points in the second half to California's 24, and the Lady Pintos came away with the win, 52-45.

Sydney Deeken led California with 15 points, followed by Meleigha Caudel with 11.

Eldon was led by Taylor Pehle and Becca Larson with 11 points each.

The JV Lady Pintos lost 40-28 to the Lady Mustangs.

California hosted Versailles Monday night, where the varsity captured a 61-35 victory from the Lady Tigers, another Tri-County Conference win for California.

The Lady Pintos were led by Morgan Henley, who hit four of six 3-pointers, with 12 points. Deeken, Caudel and Kamryn Koetting each had nine points, and freshman Kayla Allison contributed eight.

Versailles was led by Duanna Frerking with seven points, while Kristen Nachbar, Kaylin Calton and Grace Leake each scored six.

California's JV defeated Versailles 21-14 in a two-quarter game.

The Lady Pintos (14-7 and 4-1 in the conference) will travel to Warsaw Thursday. The JV game will begin at 6 p.m., with the varsity game to follow.

California's JV will host Pilot Grove at 4 p.m. Saturday.
