The California Lady Pintos faced Jefferson City in the semifinal round of the California 20th Annual Girls Basketball Tournament Wednesday night, where the second-seeded Lady Pintos lost a hard-fought battle to the third-seeded Lady Jays in overtime, 38-36.
California will play fourth-seeded Battle for third place at 2 p.m. Saturday.
Other Wednesday night action at the tourney included the following: Moberly defeated Fulton 50-46; Boonville defeated Battle 55-47; and Southern Boone defeated Harrisonville 56-42.
Fifth-seeded Fulton will play seventh-seeded Southern Boone for the consolation at 6 p.m. Friday. Third-seeded Jefferson City will play top-seeded Boonville for the championship at 5 p.m. Saturday.
