Russellville boys

The Indians played Montgomery City in the first round of the South Callaway Tournament Jan. 13 at Mokane, where Russellville suffered a 96-40 loss. Levi Anderson led the Indians with 22 points.

The Indians then lost 73-36 to South Callaway in semifinals Wednesday, Jan. 15. Anderson led Russellville with 12 points, followed by Coy Bond with 11 points and Patrick Shirley with nine.

The Indians faced Hermann Friday night at the South Callaway Tourney, where Russellville lost 58-34.

Anderson led the Indians with 20 points.

Russellville will play at Prairie Home at 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24.

Russellville girls

The Lady Indians played Harrisburg in the first round of the South Callaway Tournament Jan. 14 at Mokane, where they came away with a 48-45 victory.

"I'm extremely proud of my kids," Russellville Coach David Volkart said. "They showed a lot of toughness and refused to lose. Great win for us against a state-ranked team."

The Lady Indians led 10-6 after one quarter, 22-16 at the half, and 36-35 after three quarters on their way to the win against the Lady Bulldogs.

Haley Windsor led Russellville with 13 points and six rebounds. A.J. Grellner and Hannah Matthews each had 11 points, while Grellner also grabbed six rebounds.

Russellville will host Crocker at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23.

Prairie home boys

The Panthers traveled to Tuscumbia Jan. 14, where they suffered a 53-20 loss to the Lions.

After an even 6-6 first quarter, Tuscumbia outscored Prairie Home 16-5 in the second, 14-6 in the third and 13-3 in the fourth to secure the win.

"We had some good looks, but need to find more ways to score," Panther Coach Cary Bibb said. "Tuscumbia played very well."

Ross Kendrick led the Panthers with nine points. Klay Holliday scored four.

The Panthers hosted Jamestown for Homecoming Friday night, where they lost 46-28 to the Eagles.

Prairie Home was led by Kody Simmons with 10 points. Ross Kendrick, Rayce Kendrick and Jonathan Brandes each had four points.

Jamestown was led by Trevor Barbour with 14 points, followed by Andy Thompson with 13. Alden Rohrbach chipped in with eight points.

Prairie Home will host Russellville at 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24.
