California then faced Eldon for the tourney championship Saturday, where the Lady Pintos won a close contest 38-32 to clench the title.

"This was the best game we played in the tournament," California Coach Jennifer Porter said. "I'm very proud of how the girls fought hard and came up with the win."

Previously, California hosted Boonville Jan. 15, where the Lady Pintos won 37-24. Lutz led California with 18 points, followed by Halle Oliver with seven and Ellington with six.

"The girls started off slow but came out in the second half and showed how they can play," Porter said. "Boonville is a good team and came into the game with a 13-1 record. These are the games we live to play."

California hosted Eldon Jan. 14, where the Lady Pintos captured a 24-9 win from the Lady Mustangs led by Hampton and Emma Baer with six points each.

The Lady Pintos were on the road Jan. 13 for a game against Thomas Jefferson, where California came away with a 28-21 victory.
