CPI discusses CHD NAP revolving loan fund

Representatives of the California Historic District (CHD) reported progress to the Board of Directors of California Progress, Inc. (CPI) a the regular monthly meeting Thursday, Jan. 23, at the library.

The Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) grant for a Revolving Loan Fund was reviewed. The application for the $120,000 grant was approved with 70 percent tax credits. Donations for the fund may be accepted at any time. The funds are for the renovation of the exterior facades of the structures in the historic district.

There are store front drawings, by the DREAM Initiative for suggested renovations for the appearance of buildings in the historic district.

The "Wine, Dine and Win" fundraiser was discussed. The event is set for April 12 from 6 to 11 p.m. Bids are being sought for the meal. Items are sought for the silent auction and larger items for a possible live auction.

The Fair Board is reported to be discussing concerns about a community building.

CPI will continue to own the Finke Theatre until September.

The board also approved payment of regular bills.

The CHD is planning a Cinco de Mayo celebration for Saturday, May 3. Volunteers will be needed.

The next regular meeting is set for Feb. 20 at noon at the library.
