CHS speech team competes at Windsor

Seven members of the California High School speech team competed at the Windsor Invitational Speech Tournament, Saturday, Jan. 18. They were accompanied by coaches Ben Wilson and Kendra Logue.

The team comepeted against 11 other schools in seven categories - poetry, prose, duet acting, storytelling, improvisational duet acting (IDA), original works and radio.

Individual Results:

Prose: Abby Harris - Round 1: fifth place, Round 2: fourth place; Dania Isidro - Round 1: fuorth place, Round 2: second place; Taylor Fast - Round 1: fourth place, Round 2: fifth place.

Poetry: Jacob Collier - Round 1: third place, Round 2: fifth place.

Improvisational Duet Acting: Jacob Collier and Taylor Fast - Round 1: fifth place and Round 2: sixth place; Abby Harris and Ashton Brizendine - Round 1: first place and Round 2: sixth place; Dania Isidro and Trevor Hall - Round 1: fifth place, Round 2: first place and Final: seventh place; McKenna Turpin and Clayton Percival - Round 1: seventh place and Round 2: sixthth place.

Storytelling: Abby Harris - Round 1: seventh place, Round 2: fifth place.

Original Works: Trevor Hall - Round 1: second place, Round 2: third place and Final: seventh place; Dania Isidro - Round 1: second place, Round 2: second place and Final: second place; Jacob Collier - Round 1: third place, Round 2: fourth place; Clayton Percival - Round 1: fourth place, Round 2: fifth place.

Duet Acting: Jacob Collier and Ashton Brizendine - Round 1: fourth place and Round 2 - fourth place.

Radio: Clayton Percival - Round 1: seventh place, Round 2: seventh place; Trevor Hall - Round 1: fifth place, Round 2: fifth place.

CHS competitors were Taylor Fast, Jacob Collier, Clayton Percival, McKenna Turpin, Abby Harris, Trevor Hall, Ashton Brizendine and Dania Isidro.
