Tribute to Veterans to be held at the Memorial

Come celebrate the 4th of July at the Albert Jobe Ball field in High Point beginning at 6 p.m. with lots of food and fellowship.

The Tribute to Veterans will be at the memorial at 8 p.m. with the addition of names to the memorial and four flags, Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines, to be dedicated with fireworks beginning at dark.

Sunday school attendance at the Baptist church was 60. Celebrating June birthdays were Dennis Fisher, Terry Blankenship, John Hall, Marlee Russell, Katie Richey, Kim Ashley, Gary Koerner, Betsy Hoback and Bryce Hale. Celebrating an anniversary were Phil and Regenia Wyrick, Luke and Robin Gier, Denver and Jennifer Miller and David and Christie Dowell.

At the Sunday morning worship the Bible School Commencement was held. There were 39 enrolled in Bible school during the past week. Before Bible school started each evening a supper was served.

There were 90 in worship with a carry-in dinner following.

The night worship was a study of a chapter of Daniel followed by the deacon's meeting.

July 6 a business meeting will follow night worship.

On July 7, at 7:30 p.m., members of the High Point community Renewal Association will meet in the Post Office to begin finalizing Homecoming plans to be held Aug. 30.

Beverly Meyer attended "Church In the Park" Sunday hosted by Green Ridge Baptist and Green Ridge Presbyterian churches followed by a carry-in dinner. Green Ridge R-8 was the first school that Beverly taught for 12 years, teaching grades first - 12 both vocal and instrumental music.

Josh and Susan Martin's guests this past week were Mary Kilmer and son Jarrett, Greenwood, Wis., and Angela Smith, Thorp, Wis.
