A California man died Tuesday afternoon when his car collided with an oncoming truck in Moniteau County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol identified the victim as Paul D. Forbis, 56. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck on US 50 just east of Business 50 West.
Forbis reportedly was driving a 2006 Buick Rendezvous westbound around 2 p.m. when it crossed the center line and struck an eastbound semi tractor driven by Kevin L. Sheets, 48, of Versailles.
Sheets received moderate injuries and was transported by ambulance to Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts, the patrol reported.
