The annual California Middle School Basketball Camp for girls in grades 7-8 was held last week, June 2-5, at the middle school gym, where approximately 25 attended. Jennifer Porter and Brian Lawson instructed the camp, where the focus was learning basic fundamentals of the game.
"It's a free camp where we work on fundamentals and learn the game," Lawson said on the second day of the camp. "We're also getting them ready for the upcoming season."
Lawson said he and Porter were also looking forward to taking members of the CMS Lady Pintos basketball teams to Bolivar June 6-7 to compete in a tournament.
