The driver sustained serious injuries as a result of an incident which occurred Sunday, June 15, on Highway 179, three-tenths of a mile south of Splice Creek.
According to a Missouri Highway Patrol report, the incident occurred at 9:20 a.m. when a northbound 2008 GMC Sierra, driven by Brian P. Burns, Mineola, Texas, traveled off the right side of the road, returned to the roadway, skidded off the left side of the road, overturned and struck several trees.
Burns was transported by Mid-Mo Ambulance to University Hospital, Columbia, with serious injuries.
The driver was reported to have not been wearing a seat belt. The vehicle was reported totaled.
