The Dutch Bakery in Tipton celebrated its 27th anniversary and grand opening in the new 15,000 square foot building. The new building is much more open than the first store which was only 4,000 square feet.
The original building was torn down and the parking lot expanded.
During the anniversary sale customers were given a 10 percent discount with an additional five percent for customers spending more than $100.
The store was full of customers with many wonderful comments on the new facility. The lighting has improved, more checkout lanes, wider aisles make it so much nicer to get through, an expanded deli area with seating, more displays to choose from, an increased amount of refrigerator-freezer space which also includes ice cream and an increased inventory were all mentioned by shoppers during the event. The store also has a variety of outdoor furniture as well as plants and blooming flowers.
Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Hoover, owners, and manager, David Hoover, were on hand for to greet and welcome the customers.
During the celebration customers enjoyed a large variety of free product samples throughout the store. Customers with purchases exceeding $10 were given a free pen, chip clip or set of measuring spoons as a gift from the store.
Dutch Bakery and Bulk Food Store is located at 709 Hwy 50 West, Tipton. They are opened Monday - Friday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
